The Blockhouse has been a local favorite in Greenville since 1981. The goal is to serve the finest quality food available in a casual and relaxed atmosphere. The food is made from scratch using the best ingredients possible. The burgers are hand-patted and soups are prepared daily. All meats are aged and hand-cut in house. Seafood and oysters are shipped in fresh from the coast, and the grilled items are cooked over a hickory wood fire. If you want a fine dining experience in a casual dining restaurant, The Blockhouse is the place and has been for the last 27 years.

Even better fried oysters!
If you are going for atmosphere - not really the place. You can have trouble finding your way around the joint, but beyond that the food is actually killer. Fried select oysters have never been disappointing. Salads are surprisingly good. BBQ is another favorite. Fried shrimp can be comparable to most coastal restaurants. All in all, we like it and keep coming back.
Fabulous raw oysters!
This place is nothing special to look at, and the service is spotty, but the food is very good and the prices are reasonable. My husband and I love to go here for the raw oysters on the half shell.
