Restaurant Chef

Meet The Chef
Elizabeth Bardsley

After attending Florida State University (Suntan U.), Liz jumped with both feet into a career in fine dining. She apprenticed in Atlanta and Los Angeles before settling in Greenville as Executive Chef of Seven Oaks Restaurant. She later co-owned Restaurant La Boheme for five years before joining Northampton Wines in 2004 during the formative stages of the Wine Cafe. Her recent awards include 1999 "Best Chef of the Upstate" and 2005 "Upstate Leaders." Her specialty is contemporary French Cuisine with wine pairings. She marvels at the evolution of the upstate food and wine scene and is glad to be a part of it.

Delicious food

Posted By AllisonF from Greenville

Northampton is an absolutely fantastic restaurant. The food is perfect and you won't get a better wine list in town, as this is the only retailer you should go to buy your wine if it is, indeed, important to you.

Très Bon!

Posted By alliecat from Greenville

A dream come true for wine lovers like me, Northampton Wines undoubtedly boasts the most comprehensive wine program in town and probably the entire state. Here you can peruse hundreds of wines from all over the world, enjoy a full meal, and take part in a Friday night tasting given by the in-house expert, Richard deBondt. Never before have I encountered someone with such an extensive knowledge of (and a genuine passion for) all things related to wine. Mr. deBondt will literally walk through the cellar with you. He will not only answer your questions but will give you all sorts of interesting facts and tidbits about each varietal, the region from which it originated, and the distinct flavors and aromas of the grapes. Northampton is set in a renovated warehouse which features an exposed brick interior, grand Palladian windows, and rows upon rows of wine bottles - some still in their crates. If you decide to stop in, expect to stay a while. Learn from a true connoisseur, enjoy some fine dining, and raise a glass to a superlative wine experience!

Classy and Elegant!

Posted By boydmer8482 from Greenville

My husband and I love eating in the dining room for special occasions. The food is beautiful, elegant, and exceptionally prepared. I've never been less than thrilled with anything I've had here. Their wine classes are awesome too!

Love it!

Posted By dtallie from Greenville

Northampton is one of the best dining experiences in Greenville. I have been several times to the bar and for dinner, and everything is exceptional. I typically get seafood but recently branched out and got a veal chop that was to die for. The menu always suits a wide variety of palettes, so it's perfect for business and/or any dinner with someone you want to impress. There's a reason why it has a very loyal following of regulars!

Incredible experience!

Posted By JW2 from Irmo

Our wedding rehearsal dinner was held at Northampton back in October, and words cannot express just how amazing the food, service, and the entire evening was overall. Bari and Chef Liz worked with us on an incredible menu with wine pairings that everyone still raves about. We cannot wait to go back and see what Chef Liz and her amazing staff have cooked up this season!

For a fun evening with friends. The wine tastings on Friday evenings are full of great information and very enjoyable.
