Restaurant Chef

Meet The Chef
Shaun Garcia

Originally from Spartanburg, Shaun's interest in food began early. He spent time as a child in traditional southern "meat and three" restaurants owned by his grandmother. A self-taught culinarian, Shaun has built on his early passion with ten years of professional experience at restaurants in North and South Carolina. He joined Table 301 in August 2003 as a line cook, worked his way up and was promoted to Chef de Cuisine in January 2007. One of his primary goals in dish development is the use of seasonal ingredients and local products whenever possible, both because supporting local growers is important to community and because use of the freshest ingredients always translates to greater flavor for the customer. One of his favorite responsibilities is the development of the nightly features offered to compliment the Soby's dinner menu- a task that allows him to really exercise his culinary creativity.

Never a Disappointment !

Posted By GardenGirl from Piedmont

LOVE Sobys ! Our party of 3 "foodies" had an early dinner before a recent performance of Dreamgirls @ the Peace Center. Food was wonderful, service excellent, atmosphere was good- but loud in the loft area (was to be expected on a Saturday evening). We visit Soby's probably 3 times a year- it's always excellent, never a disappointment. Made reservations online with "open table" site- no problems.

Oh My it was good

Posted By shooter from Hartwell

My wife and I had the opportunity to dine at Soby's and we were so happy we did. From the very fast and friendly staff to the warm atmosphere to the excellent food, I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys fine dining without the high prices many restaurants in this class charge. We dined outside, it was a beautiful night. My wife is both a people watcher and a vegetarian and she was not disappointed on either count. We started with the fried green tomatoes, wonderful presentation and taste. All the food was warm and delightful. She had the veggie plate, I had the shrimp and grits, loved them both. Sorry but we did not have room for desert so I cannot comment on that. If you like fine food and a friendly staff you will enjoy Soby's.

I Love the South!

Posted By juicerjam from Greenville

Soby's has a relaxed family feel atmosphere that made us want to come back.Food was better the last time I was in than it has been in a long time, so I will definitely be back soon. My daughter and I agree the bacon wrapped pork tenderloin is one of the best things we have ever eaten. With friends or family this is a great spot to check out.

Astounding (Period)

Posted By the Rested Traveler from Travelers Rest

I cannot say enough about Soby's. The location is right in the heart of Downtown Greenville on Court Square. The atmosphere is incredible. The service is very attentive, knowledgeable (of both the menu and the wine pairings), and accommodating. The food, you ask? It's out of this world. If you never eat at any restaurants and must eat at one restaurant in Greenville before you die, then this is the one.

Scrumptious Food & Service

Posted By Epicure from Easley

A place to enjoy inventive Southern food and tasty and consistently great service! The times I have been it has been on the loud side though so it might be better for dinner with a large group or you can always eat outside.

Deliciousness on a Plate

Posted By BeerSnobbie from Greenville

Soby's has some fantastic entres - my favorite is their shrimp and grits. I haven't eaten there often but the few times I have been there, I have thoroughly enjoyed myself. They just cook and prepare everything so well - it's a real treat!
