Restaurant Chef

Meet The Chef
Dai Sugimoto

Sushi Hana's owner and head chef Daisuke Sugimoto brings with him culinary experience from Japan. Chef "Dai," as friends and customers call him, grew up in Yokohama. One of his favorite things to prepare is the Omakase dish, or chef's creation. A customer gives him an idea of what he or she wants and he creates something specifically for that customer.

Featured Recipe: Shrimp Tempura

Shrimp Tempura

Posted By king-foodie from Simpsonville

Went to Sushi Hana with my friends today for lunch. I had the Shrimp Tempura, and my friends a mixture of sushi. It was all very good. They were busy, but they had very friendly service, good atmosphere and great food.

Very Tasty

Posted By clmsnskr from Greenville

I went here for the first time last night. I have been wanting to try this place for months. The place was pretty busy! I think this is why the sushi chefs were a tad behind, however our server kept a good eye on us and made sure we had everything we needed. She even comped us an appetizer because she thought we were waiting too long. When we got our sushi, we immediately realized that it was well worth the wait and that there is a good reason the place was so busy. This was the best sushi I've ever had and I eat sushi somewhere at least once a week. The presentation was fantastic too! I will be going back here very soon!

Worth the Wait

Posted By GlamGirl from Easley

Went here for the first time last night... I've never waited so long for sushi in my whole life! The restaurant was VERY busy! However the wait staff kept a good eye on us and checked back with us frequently. One waitress even brought us a complimentary salad because of the wait. When we finally got our sushi we were pleasantly surprised! The food was great and worth the wait! The California sunrise was my favorite. It was presented in a martini glass and tasted wonderful!!!
