Restaurant Chef

Meet The Chef
Lindsay Autry

Raised on a peach farm in North Carolina, Autry's call to culinary arts came at the age of six when she discovered that she did not like the taste of canned food. She began experimenting in a camper kitchen and by age nine she was in state 4H cooking competitions. Autry attended the prestigious Johnson & Wales University and was awarded the Vollrath Award for Gastronomic Excellence and voted Valedictorian for the College of Culinary Arts. After graduation, she honed her skills working with Chef Michelle Bernstein at Azul, the AAA-five diamond restaurant in the Mandarin Oriental. She worked in notable kitchens such as Mb in Cancun and Las Brisas in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. She has competed on television's Iron Chef. Her commitment to local farmers shows on The Lazy Goat menu. Autry's menu focuses on providing fresh items made from scratch and features flavors from the Mediterranean.

Restaurant Manager

Meet The Manager
Aimee Maher

Maher, a veteran in the hospitality industry, came to Table 301 in 2004 as General Manager of Soby’s after more than 12 years with the Wild Wings Café. Maher spent her college years in The University of Akron in Ohio, completing BA in Theatre, followed by receiving her Master of Arts in Theatre Arts. Maher figured that waiting tables would be the first acting skill she needed to learn. That desire got her started in the industry, working summers in Hilton Head Island. She joined Wild Wings Café in 1990 as a bartender and moved up from there. By the end of her first year, the company was ready to expand to the next location and needed someone to step into management. Since Maher was already doing most of that management level work, it was the natural next step for her. She continued pursuing her acting career while in the restaurant business until she realized some of her best "work" was done on the floor in the restaurant and she could practice both arts by staying in the hospitality industry. Maher was instrumental in opening The Lazy Goat, working on everything from interiors and furniture selection to hiring and training staff and developing day-to-day operational procedures. You’ll find her regularly splitting time between Soby’s and The Lazy Goat, ensuring a great experience at either Table 301 restaurant.

The Lazy Goat, in Greenville's West End, is a Mediterranean-themed restaurant with a menu featuring global influences from Spain, Morocco, Italy, France, Greece, Africa and the Middle East. Executive Chef Lindsay Autry is known for her "made from scratch" approach to cooking- from the "zahtar" on the table to the house made pasta, every item that is served is almost exclusively made by Autry and her culinary team. Chef Lindsay encourages a "social dining" and wants her patrons to share conversation, as well as her dishes, at her tables.

Great time w/ the girls!

Posted By JHB from Simpsonville

What a wonderful time...there were 12 of us and the waiter never missed a beat. We sat outside and it was wonderful. Wish we could have gotten mixed drinks outside but hey, that's the law. The wine was wonderful and our waiter had great suggestions. I think we had one of everything on the menu...at least the apps...and shared it all. The Greek mac-n-cheese was awesome...and the pizza and the meat and cheese sample plate...loved the drunken cheese and goat...yummy...it makes me want it again just writing this!!! Try it out...and don't be afraid to try something new...you won't regret it!!!

Fun atmosphere, fabulous food

Posted By LittleChemist from Greenville

Been here several times for dinner and just for drinks. A little too pricey for your every-day meal, but if you're looking for something special this is a great place! Extensive wine and cocktail selection, and many unique starters & entrees. Portions are reasonable (no unnecessary biggie-size here!) and great for ordering several dishes as a group and sharing. The fried goat cheese with honey glaze are a must-have!

Almost

Posted By gvegasfoodie from Greenville

I think that the goat needs to wake up a little! Food was good, not great...the cocktails are exciting, but a little too sugary. I also noticed that the dining room can become loud. But, I think with some work, this restaurant could be something special..it's a great idea, and fills an important niche in the downtown restaurant scene.

Flavorful!!!

Posted By GlamGirl from Easley

I ate here for the first time yesterday. All the food was excellent! I had a hard time deciding what to order because I didn't know what some of the things on the menu were, but our waiter was very helpful. I loved everything we ordered. It was very flavorful and fresh! I loved the atmosphere as well. It had a big city feel to it, yet you were able to enjoy the peacefulness of the river.

Great Snapper!!

Posted By clmsnskr from Greenville

I went here for the first time last night. The snapper was phenomenal! The service was excellent! You've got to try the hummus, it was awesome, too! I loved the location by the river. It was also nice to be able to enjoy the music from the concert by the river as well. Kudos to the Lazy Goat for such high quality food and great atmosphere!

YUM!!

Posted By Crystal from Greenville

I love Mediterranean Food, and the Lazy Goat was right on. I went to a catered network event for the US Green Building Greenville Branch and had awesome mini-humus sandwiches and some delicious home made potato chips and yummy white dip. The atmosphere was amazing, and I can't wait to check it out for dinner.

excellent!

Posted By jaimee from Greenville

The food, service, and atmosphere were excellent! We came to the Lazy Goat looking for some mojitos - they had an extensive selection and were very good. Dinner was a nice surprise as we hadn't heard anything about the restaurant before visiting. Everything was delicious and our server was very helpful in selecting items to complement our tastes.
