Meet The Chef
Victoria Moore

Victoria (Vicky) Ann Moore is a self-described "food geek" who loves to explore the culinary cultures of different areas of the world. By acting as a food anthropologist and getting to the roots of why different communities eat the way they do, Vicky finds inspiration for the kitchen and takes her guests on a virtual tour of the world.
Originally from Alabama, Vicky learned how to cook from her grandmother and spent lots of time on the family cattle farm. She developed an early passion for fresh ingredients and helped grow a variety of seasonal produce in the garden.
Vicky earned both an associate and a bachelor degree in culinary arts from Johnson and Wales in North Miami, Florida. She graduated in the top 10 percent of her class with a concentration in chef supervisory/management. During her time at Johnson and Wales, she completed a line cook internship at Bay Harbor Inn and Suites in North Miami and cooked at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, Utah. Prior to joining The Lazy Goat team, she worked as a corporate trainer at The Capital Grille in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

The Lazy Goat

The Lazy Goat Menu

The Lazy Goat, in Greenville's West End, is a Mediterranean-themed restaurant with a menu featuring global influences from Spain, Morocco, Italy, France, Greece, Africa and the Middle East. Chef Vicky Moore and her team are known for a "made from scratch" approach to cooking- from the "zahtar" on the table to the house made pasta, every item that is served is almost exclusively made by the culinary team. Chef Moore encourages "social dining" and wants her patrons to share conversation, as well as her dishes, at her tables.

A cozy, tasty spot on a winter's eve

Posted By Gastrognome from Greenville

First trip to the Lazy Goat, on a cold, rainy winter night. It will become one of our "go to" spots to dine out! Food was so flavorful and appealing, service attentive, and loved the French press coffee to finish off the wonderful dinner and dessert.

You haven't been to the Lazy goat?

Posted By Bernard from Greenville

Since the Lazy Goat is one of my favorite restaurants in Greenville I thought it was time to post a review. I have been many times for both lunch and dinner. I highly recommend the charred steak served sliced on flat bread. Also, do not leave the Goat without trying their Pommes Frites (fries) served with homemade catsup. Hey Carl, you guys need to market that catsup in grocery stores! After work bar scene upstairs has a great cosmo, big city feel.

A pleasant surprise

Posted By hungry for more from Greenville

We stumbled on The Lazy Goat one day in search of an interesting new restaurant. It was such a nice surprise to find it. We were one of the only diners in there as it was very early and we thoroughly enjoyed our experience. The staff was excellent and the food was good.In particular, the fried goat cheese appetizer. As my husband and I have both experienced a great deal of authentic Morocccan and Middle Eastern food, we found it not quite completely authentic, but this did not take away from our enjoyment at all. It is definitely a fresh take on those cuisines. And what a pleasure to find it in Greenville. We recommend it for a refreshing change...

The Lazy Goat

Posted By the pious pallet from Spartanburg

I've heard a lot about The Lazy Goat and was very excited to finally be able to go. My wife and I order something from every section of the menu....we had to taste it all. We started with some cheeses and meats which were accompanied by some delicious olives and cipolinni onions. The portion of cipolinnis were tasty but was a kind of a meager portion. The fennel sausage and caramelized pizza was really tasty, but would have been over the top delicious had the onions been really caramelized. Again, I loved the pizza.. The garlic shrimp were not what I expected. A little pricey for the portion as well. The flavor of the dish was overpowered first by the grill flavor on the shrimp and then second by the aftertaste of the shrimp, which took away from the really nice, delicate but flavorful broth. Then we both had a half portion of two pastas: The sweet potato tagliatelle which was just awesome and the butternut parppardelle which was less impressive. The pearl onions (I know, I must have a thing with the onions here) overpowered the delicate flavors of the dish. I think roasted pearl onions would have been better, or even no onions at all. We finished with the Charred Arrachera with the truffled pommes frites....AMAZING!!!!! Wow! It was really perfect. We really enjoyed our evening and the leftovers the next day.

Great Downtown Views

Posted By Luv2DINE from Seneca

All windows, overlooking the river across from the Coach Factory behind the Peace Center. Just soothing. The food was wonderful - enjoyed the Mediterranean chopped salad - spinach dip appetizer - very tasty, not as big a fan of the soup - but overall everything was very tasty and filling, will definitely go again.

Great time w/ the girls!

Posted By JHB from Simpsonville

What a wonderful time...there were 12 of us and the waiter never missed a beat. We sat outside and it was wonderful. Wish we could have gotten mixed drinks outside but hey, that's the law. The wine was wonderful and our waiter had great suggestions. I think we had one of everything on the menu...at least the apps...and shared it all. The Greek mac-n-cheese was awesome...and the pizza and the meat and cheese sample plate...loved the drunken cheese and goat...yummy...it makes me want it again just writing this!!! Try it out...and don't be afraid to try something new...you won't regret it!!!

Fun atmosphere, fabulous food

Posted By LittleChemist from Greenville

Been here several times for dinner and just for drinks. A little too pricey for your every-day meal, but if you're looking for something special this is a great place! Extensive wine and cocktail selection, and many unique starters & entrees. Portions are reasonable (no unnecessary biggie-size here!) and great for ordering several dishes as a group and sharing. The fried goat cheese with honey glaze are a must-have!

Almost

Posted By gvegasfoodie from Greenville

I think that the goat needs to wake up a little! Food was good, not great...the cocktails are exciting, but a little too sugary. I also noticed that the dining room can become loud. But, I think with some work, this restaurant could be something special..it's a great idea, and fills an important niche in the downtown restaurant scene.

I ate here for the first time yesterday. All the food was excellent! I had a hard time deciding what to order because I didn't know what some of the things on the menu were, but our waiter was very helpful. I loved everything we ordered. It was very flavorful and fresh! I loved the atmosphere as well. It had a big city feel to it, yet you were able to enjoy the peacefulness of the river.

I went here for the first time last night. The snapper was phenomenal! The service was excellent! You've got to try the hummus, it was awesome, too! I loved the location by the river. It was also nice to be able to enjoy the music from the concert by the river as well. Kudos to the Lazy Goat for such high quality food and great atmosphere!

I love Mediterranean Food, and the Lazy Goat was right on. I went to a catered network event for the US Green Building Greenville Branch and had awesome mini-humus sandwiches and some delicious home made potato chips and yummy white dip. The atmosphere was amazing, and I can't wait to check it out for dinner.

excellent!

Posted By jaimee from Greenville

The food, service, and atmosphere were excellent! We came to the Lazy Goat looking for some mojitos - they had an extensive selection and were very good. Dinner was a nice surprise as we hadn't heard anything about the restaurant before visiting. Everything was delicious and our server was very helpful in selecting items to complement our tastes.
